day 8 - Cleveland, Ohio to Warren, Pennsylvania

yeah, but if patrick and i had our own baby would they be this cute?

Breakfast with Patrick's namesake, Day 8

no photoshop tricks here. that is me walking a stroller across the street in front of pride of cleveland scooters on day 8. the catch is, the stroller is empty. (which is probably good since i am just randomly walking in the middle of the street. which is very dangerous for a baby)

aren't the patrick's cute?!

so during the night of day 7, there were a number of scooterists that spent the entire night at pride of cleveland fixing their bikes. i.e., they didn't sleep. bagel was one of them. this was a little bit my fault. i had his tools and didn't hear my phone when he called mid-evening to get them. for that reason he didn't start until like 10 pm. on the bright side, the hotel sucked so he got to skip that. on day 8, he wanted to take a nap and then start late but i reminded him that the support truck couldn't leave until he did and they wanted to get going. i engaged him this way because i was really worried he would ride and crash. finally i convinced him to ride with me and go to sleep as soon as he got to the hotel in pennsylvania. lucky i had him cause i got lost and he helped. we had a nice time. i really like bagel. if i had single girlfriends i would fix him up.

occasionally i play body guard. people just don't expect my karate chop!

mike thought this outfit looked more youthful than the pink smock the day before (i didn't actually take ANY pictures on day 8 so i am fudging it with mike's pictures). that seemed odd to me. but i did train mike in the ways of fashion, so i have only myself to blame.

such a cute couple with THEIR baby, the unstealth. i think we look more natural in this picture.

let's see...on day 8 we came in, um, yeah, that's right, 3rd in our class and 21st overall. there is a good reason for this though. patrick rode that day with mark h, who had rebuilt his engine the night before. mark, as you remember, is the 'rally for autism' guy. besides being conscientious, he is generally just a great guy. as mark had been down so many days and was on run-in, patrick wanted to make sure his bike made. for that reason he ignored standing and stuck with mark. the bike ran beautifully, btw!
