why i love austin
we are naming 2nd street after willie nelson. not the entire street. just part of it. but that is hella cool.
patrick and i saw willie in hamburg, germany. i remember that trip fondly for 4 reasons:
1. they spoke German we could understand (plattdeutsch)
2. there were a bunch of germans dressed up as cowboys (straight-leg jeans, belt buckles and cowboy hats!)
3. we discovered what the germans called kielbasa...krakauer (which made TOTAL sense when we thought about it)
4. we got to see willie!
i ride to San Antonio tomorrow. i am sort of nervous because i will be on a 2-stoke in the heat. i figure i will stop every 30 min or so and let the bike cool for 15/20 min. promise to take lots of pictures! i am excited about the trip too. i feel proud to be riding my bike there instead of trucking it. sort of silly, but you know, i come from a serious scooter pedigree (patrick riding the cannonball and all). got to live up to the legacy (what is it called if they are still alive?). i want to create a new award for the scooter competition...'cutest in show'. i can show them how it is done this first year...first, get a pink scooter. second, ride it. third, be fabulously dressed. and poof! you win!
