a funny definition
'emotional disorder involving a counterproductive way of dealing with stress'. this was the definition of neurosis in my medical terminology book. merriam-webster defines it quite differently: : a mental and emotional disorder that affects only part of the personality, is accompanied by a less distorted perception of reality than in a psychosis, does not result in disturbance of the use of language, and is accompanied by various physical, physiological, and mental disturbances (as visceral symptoms, anxieties, or phobias). i dunno, i think that is really funny. i have always seen it as more merriam than med term.
doing homework trying to get ahead on my medical terminology course instead of spending time downtown for SXSW. such a good girl. i had a hard time getting up today. well, after i went back to bed when my gym buddy was delayed. i just felt sad. i wanted to hide in bed all day. i certainly didn't want to go do any of the things i planned to do today. and i didn't. but i have felt better since i started studying. even made some necessary phone calls). i wonder what it is. part of it is certainly not having anything i HAVE to do. it is hard to manage the motivation. that is why i schedule things i can't flake on in the mornings. that helps. i need to go back to my homework now though. kiss kiss!
